Skinny Or Fat Tires For Your Off Roader
April 19, 2007 | Leave a Comment
Have you every wonder whether the width of your tires play a role in your off roader’s ability to move around and not get stuck in muddy road conditions?
Well, it sure does and it is important to first understand the terrain that your off roader is going to go through.
It appears that different width tires are good for different terrain, and it is even possible to combine both skinny and fat tires (front and rear) as long as they are of the same height.
In essence, the wider tires gives more float and is better for the ride if the mud is rather deep while the narrower tire will go deep and is good if the mud layer is thin.
